stan, Manias bring on manic behavior, by definition. I'm still amazed by the number of folks I talk to who still have the mania. I still get calls like, "we know that Sun's coming back some day." No we don't. Or, "I'd be very happy to buy Cisco at $12 1/2." Not any more. But the main thing I see that says mania, is that they don't want to even hear about anything but tech stocks. Try talking golds or biotechs or anything else, and they hang up and call Chuckie Schwab for their tech fix. The only exception has been bean oil. I tried it first with my really good clients, then mentioned it as a possibility for the tech wreck clients and they jumped in. "Dot coms with salad oil, please." <G>

The industry is still way too bullish. They have a zillion canned products. Nary a bear product in the bunch. We are finally starting to offer folks market neutral funds. Those are neutral, not bearish, but the firm acts like they're spitting on the flag and only wants to allocate them to the huge accounts and for only a max of 5%. 5%? What's the freakin' point of doing any? <g>
