Fro man,
I'm glad my back is better too. I was able to stretch and touch my toes for the first time yesterday. Wooo Hooo!
How many miles was that all together.
I'm not sure exactly of the miles. We go by hours on our boats. It took 7 hours to San Francisco Bay from Sacramento. In comparison, it takes less then 2 hours to drive there..............usually.......
It was 28 nautical miles straight out to the Faralons from the Gate on the charts. That worked out just about perfect at 1 1/2 hours at 18 knots.
We actually left the Sac Yacht Club on Wednesday afternoon and cruised down the Sacramento River to Rio Vista for the first evening. (3 hours) We spent the night there in their Marina.
Thursday morning we woke up to a overcast, blustery day, and cruised down to Vallejo Yacht Club. (2 hours) We spent the night there in their marina, and met an incredible individual. His name is Joe. I don't know what his last name is, but we call him Joe Fizz, on account of the Ramuss Fizzes he made us on Friday morning before we headed for the bay and the Faralons. He's 90 years old, still tends the bar at the yacht club and lives on his 1936 boat. Boy, has that guy got some stories to tell!! He was great fun!
Was that the first time your boat tasted salt water? Or is the river on the brackish side much like the lower section of the Hudson River.
No, my boat tastes the salt at least twice a year, on average, and it's 5 years old. Just a youngster........I've only had it as far south on the California coast as Santa Cruz, and have never gone north. Bodega Bay is on my list though.
The Sac River turns brackish right about Rio Vista.
Have you burned anything up lately? Get a new shed yet?Do they allow you near the barbeque at those pot luck beach parties, yet?
Hah! Nope, nope and nope. The latter only because I eat too much.......
I'm not gonna buy a new shed either. I just pocketed the $600 they gave me for that ol run down shed that used to be in the back yard. There's no more lawn in the back yard, and the guy I got doing the front yard...I think I'll keep. So, that means I get to pocket the money for the mower and some other stuff too. :)
As soon as everthing is done in the backyard I'm gonna hire a pool guy to come out also. So, there goes all the pool chemicals("BAD CHEMICALS, BAD!"), so........
"I don't need no stinkin shed" <g>
I can't get anybody to work on the house. That's beginning to worry me. I'm still waiting for the stucco and windows to be replaced. They did temporay fixes on the windows but since then, nothin!
Hey, you know how to do stucco? lol
A nice California vacation is just what ya need. Of course, it would be a "workin" vacation.
:o)
