The other way around. The Normans were descendent from the Vikings - or more precisely, the Normans WERE Vikings, though with time, a bit of French blood seeped in due to the fact that they conquered Gallic land. And if you REALLY want to want to dig deep, the Franks were also a Germanic tribe and so distant relative of the Vikings... hey, now I know why the French have any fighting spirit at all! See, they, like the British, benefitted from some good Norse fighting genes - so my apologies to all those doubting French will to fight - were it not for the Norse in the Europeans, that whole bunch of sissies wouldn't lift a finger to fight a hairy cat for their dinner.

Yes, I have plenty to be offended about. Swedes are always made fun of - how about the "Swedish Chef" from the muppets? Now Carl is saying Swedes have no fighting spirit. Next you will claim it is cold in Sweden, or the taxes are high. Many Swedes are so sick of being made fun of, that they ended up in the U.S. - it has nothing to do with taxes and weather, I swear<ggg>. Once we become Americans, nobody makes fun of us, they just shoot at us. |
