That sounds like a reasonable compromise...lets fingerprint gunowners and get an UP-TO-DATE national database that will allow authorities to track criminals more effectively.

Oh, you're referring to law abiding hunters and other hobbyists who lawfully purchase their firearms. Of course demonizing these people is a favorite pastime of the gun grabbers.

How about a mandatory DNA database for all US citizens while you're at it ? Should breeze right thru in the present post 9/11 environment.
