.50 cal.
I hunt moose yearly. The .50 cal. is WAY too big. It is the sign of an inexperienced hunter to be overpowered. The result of the wrong rifle is hugely damaged and wasted animal quarters. Common rifles used locally are .308, 30-06 and even old army Lee Enfield .303's which has appropriate ballistics.
