Zeev, For individual Sox stocks we want to own, would it be a good idea to put buy limit orders in halfway between current prices and yearly lows? Does the 50% pullback target(you anticipate) apply to the equips as well as the chips? Would stops be appropriate if sox went below 50% retracement? marv

The question should be why would you want to "own" SOX stocks for LTBH. I think they'll come and bite you back even if we have a massive rally. I can't give you a general recipe, since some may hit new lows on the next retrenchment (candidates, INTC, AMD, VECO, NEWP, BRKS and even AMAT, and who knows, maybe even mighty KLAC if they want to use their earnings report next week to shave some 20% to 25% from it. In any event, always use stops, don't change your investment/trading philosophy, too often.
