I have little to disagree about your post, Emile. My point is that once we have a canon, it stands supreme as authoritative, and other writings of the church fathers are not on a par with them. However, if any of those writings rightly divide the word and do indeed process the sincere milk of the Word, fine: I would have no problem with them on that basis. Mind you, I would subject them to a wary scrutiny that I would not inflict upon the canon.
