im, because at one point we had endorsed him on some kind of basis.....certainly not wholeheartedly but enough to aid him in his conflict with Iran because it suited our purposes at that time.

Now some years later we are claiming that he is next to Satan in terms of evilness.

We have supported evil people before. We supported Stalin 1000 times more then we ever supported Saddam. Supporting someone who is evil to avoid horrible things from happening like Hitler from conquering Europe or Iran from becoming dominate in the ME.

Tim, yes and look at the results. Stalin turned out to be much worse than Hitler and Saddam has turned out to be much worse than Iran.
