How we can prevent terrorism as far as possible, and also not throw away our constitutional protections.

I think the most important thing to do, with regard to Al Queda, or any other group like them, is to find out what they want, what they imagine they are setting up, and then do everything in our power to subvert that world vision. In this case many have suggested that Al Queda wants a confrontation between the East and the West. They wanted us to invade Afghanistan. We probably played into their hands by doing that. If we were smart we would not intensify divisions with the Arab community. in fact, right now, we would be seen cementing ties with the Arab community- in Iran and Iraq and in the rest of the Arab world.

The best antidotes to what Al Queda says about the West, are clear signs that the US is friendly to Muslim countries.

By using violence in the middle East, in an attempt to solve a terrorist problem, we aid the enemy. We might as well be passing out their literature with every bullet we fire over there.
