I said WE (the US) would be better off. Gosh you read things funny.
I would prefer it if the twin towers had not been attacked. Could you fail to understand that? Well, maybe the USSR out of Afghanistan is more important to you- but I would prefer them there, and the twin towers to be still standing.

"I'm not sure we wouldn't be better off right now with the USSR still in Afghanistan (assuming the USSR could have held together- but probably not). Who do you think Al Q. Would be mad at then? Assuming they even existed?"

what you said, don't know how you inferred it, but here it is:

"Tilt...non sequitur....
Al Quaeda is "mad" at the US because of our mideast involvement, supporting the only democracy in the region and our presence in the Muslim holy lands.....they were obviously grateful for US non-intervention in post war Afghanistan....and your suggestion that Afghanistan would be better off under the thumb of the repressive Soviets and their puppet regime.....well.....that just says it all about you, doesn't it?

Man the ramparts, comrade!!!

Bizzarromundo JLA, as usual.

hehehehehehe "
