President Nixon carried out the wishes of the electorate on that occasion. Actually Nixon was a dedicated public servant who sometimes gets treated a little harshly in history I think.

I would concur that there was much Nixon did that was visonary. Unfortunately, his political paranoia proved to be his own downfall...

But there was nothing to do with Vietnam.. Both government, north and south, were corrupt and intent on a power grab. One of the most disgusting aspects was how we permitting wealthy S. Vietnamese to relocate here in the US despite their being primarily responsible for the downfall of their governments, rather than doing what should have been done to make their country a viable political and economic institution.

Btw, good for you on the smoking bit... Any tips for us adults??
