Ok, so it's NOT so strong an indication that Islamic terrorism is behind these shootings. But consider my curiosity(is it somehow out of line here?). Because he's an ex-marine one imagines he wouldn't be connected with Al Qaeda. If I assume he is on America's side, it may be that he carries a similar weapon as the sniper, a note proclaiming "Gihad in America," a Tarot card(s), and radio equipment in his white van because he is a bit of a survivalist reminding himself of his enemy Al Qaeda with a pinned-up note, and/or a bit of a hunter, or he wants to claim false credit for the crimes. If he had one Tarot card, which one did he have? What were he and his girlfriend fighting over that caused her to shoot him? Did authorities want to keep the "gihad in America" note quiet just not to embarrass an innocent? What is the explanation for him? Maybe an ex-marine CAN become a radical Muslim? Since he didn't do anything illegal, maybe authorities let him go, but immediately felt attention to this story might blow a chance to learn something from his future actions/communications?
What IS the explanation for him? I can't answer that. I'm just curious, and rightly so, me thinks. If he's completely unrelated, why the desire to keep his story quiet and the lack of curiosity on the part of the media concerning the obvious questions? The notion that he didn't do anything illegal so they released him- end of story- doesn't add up given the current state of affairs, IMO.
