John... Personally, I would feel that posting Ann Coulter and her banter on this thread is about a inappropriate as posting Dowd... Both are famous for giving off more heat than light.

As I recall, Dowd won a Pulitzer for commentary. But the last two or three columns of hers were comparable to Coulter. Given the stuff that gets posted to this thread, this most recent column of Dowd's certainly doesn't mark a bottom. Just in case you are interested (never can really tell), I didn't post the Dowd piece. But I thought it funny and said so.

Btw, thanks for removing that thinly veiled bias we all knew lurked behind your "I need to be convinced" semantics...

That may be the way you do this. I don't. I'm hear to read and learn. And have done a ton of both over the past many months. Pollack taught me a great deal. The Simon and Benjamin book is teaching me a great deal. Kepel ditto. Miller ditto.

I gather that you consider the purpose of reading is to confirm already held positions.
