The 26% rise in quarterly revenue posted last week by Microsoft was a one-time occurrence caused by a switch to a subscription sales model, and business conditions remain otherwise difficult, the company's chief executive said over the weekend. Speaking on Australian television, Steve Ballmer said, "We're not trying to say that we think the sales results of our first quarter will be sustainable -- it is kind of a one-time anomaly"
