You are entitled to your opinion, just as I am. In my opinion, you are a liar. I think your shopping stories are fabricated, just like some of your financial, um, analysis (for lack of a better term).

In the last four quarters, HD generated over $57 Billion in revenues, an increase of $8 Billion. And that was in a tough economy. How many other companies, much less retailers, grew sales by that rate? For perspective, that $8 Billion in additional sales equates to nearly 1/3 of the same period entire sales of nearest competitor, Lowes. Some would say that Lowes is growing faster. True on a percentage basis, since they have less penetration and a much smaller revenue base. Yet, HD dominates in growth in terms of absolute market share. That sounds a lot more like Wal-mart than K Mart.
But, I'm sure you'll tell us that those are phantom revenues since, in your judgement, HD doesn't stock inventory according to their customers' needs, despite all financial evidence to the contrary. |
