Nietzsche objected to the poles Good and Evil, in favor of Noble and Base, in line with his desire to substitute an aristocratic morality for Judeo- Christian morality. (Nietzsche acknowledged that we are valuing animals, and cannot exist without some kind of morality). The problem is that there are some acts where the malice is so overwhelming, use of the term Base makes little sense, and Evil fits better as a descriptive term. Depravity may be a worthwhile substitute, but it is practically a synonym for Evil, so why worry the question?
