Why's the futures down after hours?

TXN really stinking up the joint...

From the semi sector Texas Instruments (TXN -17%) not only missed for Q3 by $0.01 it issued a sizeable warning for Q4. Now sees EPS of about $0.02 on a pro forma basis, plus or minus a few cents (consensus $0.11) and a 10% sequential decline in revenues which implies Q4 top-line of roughly $2.02 bln (consensus $2.3 bln). Altera (ALTR -5.3%) reported in line with the consensus on both the top and bottom line but lowered revenue guidance for Q4 ($176.5-183.7 mln vs consensus of $188.4 mln). Others in the sector under pressure include: INTC -4%, KLAC -3.6%, MXIM -5.4%, AMAT -2.9%, XNLX -4.3%.
