Re: Communism is a ruthless and fanatical ideology
I do not know how or why you feel the need to discuss communism right now. I read a little on the subject and know at least that philosophically it is the most humane ideology ever - people sharing all they have, and all. However, it has failed in keeping people content and reasonably happy in the system, because it ignores basic human nature - we don't want to be one with everyone else, have what everyone else has, and live the same life no matter how hard we work. And we certainly don't care for the well-being of strangers as much as that of our loved ones - the triumph of the "American dream" over the bland equality promised by the Soviet system, that is.
And of course, the way communism has played out has been very bloody and repressive. Still, as an ideology, it is hardly "ruthless" (well-being of all, and not a select few, etc etc), although it has become fanatical in certain circles, especially since it has replaced religion.
and those Communists who are not likely to perpetrate harm are either not very indoctrinated...
This is such a gross generalization ("All communists do harm except those than are not good communists") that it is bordering on paranoia. I realize that we have all been raised thinking "communists" are all bogeymen, but I feel such generalizations are quite unfair. |
