You are learning the hard way, as I did after much pain Similiar problem here when I had a Hard Drive lock up. I have two Hard Drives now, one with XP the other Win 2K. I have various software programs on each, and some common software on both. Each system is backed up to the other Hard Drive, and have emergency recover floppies etc. I will replace Microcrap completely one day...
