I am reminded or our annual meeting for the country club this past Sunday. A local college professor was trying to get something passed that nobody else wanted. 4 different proposals were defeated by a vote of 96 to 4. He begin ranting and raving about how we weren't taking his proposal seriously and how we just were not grasping why this needed to be done. He moved yet again that his proposal be adopted when I asked him quite loudly why he thought his 4% of the vote was important enough to override the clear majority at 96%. This sent him into an absolute rage but proved to me that he and the Berkeley folks are truly convinced that only they are smart enough to understand the things that need to be done.

Very irritating.
