This is another example of the "things are different this time" phenomena that appear at market extremes. A "mature technology industry" is almost an oxymoron. It is an example of an "expert" forecasting the future of the forest while he is unable to identify the species of individual trees. It is another projection of a very unusual present as the status quo model of the future. In conclusion, it is wise to gain as much expertise as possible and to restrict risk assumption to a level commensurate with your current expertise because there are very few experts out there to advise you and very many charlatans to confuse you.
