o/t patim re: ND & Ty-mania...

7 & OOOOoooooooooh Yeeeeeeaaaaah ~

I have to admit; I was not too exicited when they named Ty the man...but, it turned out to be a great choice. This guy commands respect and demands it in his players. He has instilled the perfect attitude in this team....defense is one of the best in decades... and while they don't have a front 4 that compares with the legends of Patulski, Marx, Fanning et al.. or maybe the linebackers comparing to past greats - this is THE best secondary in ND History imho... and these guys are PLAYMAKERS and have POISE in the clutch - that is perhaps also among the best in ND history...

- now; if they can just find out a way to consistantly put points on the board... we can hang another National Title Banner in the Joyce ACC.

I predict that we will see Dillingham come off the bench out of necessity soon & he just may give us some Montana-esque; off the bench deja-vu all over again.

FSU... although with 2 losses; THIS is the portal to the National Championship game.

I will have my "lucky" game-day meal prepared - stuffed Pizza, sides of sausage & peppers & copius amounts of Heineken in frosted mugs... along with the needed mojo's properly aligned atop the TV - my Ara Parseghian bobbing head doll, Joe Montana Rookie Card, 25 year old "un-washed" 1977 National Championship Sweat -Shirt and the framed South Bend Tribune Front Page of the '88 National Championship with Tony Rice ...I only wish this was a home game... as it would be in a classic atmosphere - brisk fall weather, leaves turning color under the Shadow of the Golden Dome & Touchdown Jesus... it just don't get no mo better than that ~

Nothing like the smell of burning leaves & football in South Bend in the Fall under an October Sky... nothing.
