But the Q will win. It's under construction right now.

Good. A currency backed by a store of value, i.e. has a set intrinsic value, is the way to go. I believe it will stop a lot of pain and needless suffering in the world. Whether we go straight there is an open debate though. Maybe there has to be some serious currency devaluations to get over current imbalances and debts.

I'm as concerned for what happens to the dollar as anyone the way things are. Japan is in good shape really at the moment. They have savings, and a lot of that bank debt has been put to good public service in infrastructure.

Maggie Thatcher understood and fixed many things (like unions totally out of control) but the concept of infrastructure was a little beyond her. The civil engineering business was almost destroyed during the 80's. My dad, still active at the time built prisons instead of roads, bridges, and buildings. It was a sign of the times. That and 3 million unemployed, even with North Sea Oil. If it wasn't for the Oil, Britain could have had some real serious damage during those stressfull times.

Kinda interested whats going to happen in the next five years or so. I suspect it will be about the same as what Keynes faced in the 30's. It's one thing to keep an economy going thats in reasonable shape. Fixing an economy thats just fell off the cliff is another. An open mind is important for sure.
