E The pcpitstop download is safe. Everybody I know has used the site before and most visit it regularly.....kinda like getting a tuneup <gg>. Let it test your computer and then follow their suggestions. If you are uncomfortable with doing any of the suggestions they have an automatic fix where you let them do it for you. You can trust Pcpitstop. The setting Gottfried is referring to is the DefaultRcvWindow. The default setting on this is normally lower than what you want for a cable connection and is widely considered the most effective single change you can make to increase your download speed. Pcpitstop has an auto fix for this setting if yours is set too low. When you read their suggestions it will be presented to you.
