And you should find that amazing since that is not the position I nor anyone else I have read here have taken. The miltia modifier is not a reversal, but a context.

Are you saying that the reason for an absolute right for individuals to have weapons is so they can protect militias, or protect the right to form a militia? That would seem to be a cart before the horse kind of argument. The implication is that a random bunch of armed individuals would suddenly band together in a crisis. That's not a militia, that's a mob. The only sensible interpretation is that coordination and responsibility preceeds the possesion of sanctioned force.
