PeopleSoft Demonstrates Strong European Momentum for Third Quarter 2002

Leading European Companies Choose PeopleSoft Real-Time Applications
PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 2002--At Connect EMEA 2002, PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT - News) announced that numerous European organizations have adopted the company's world leading real-time enterprise applications in an effort to drive dramatic performance improvements while lowering total cost of ownership. Increased demand for PeopleSoft's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions contributed to strong performance during the third quarter. Companies from across Europe joined its CRM customer portfolio including: Banca Antonveneta; PAX Schweizerische Lebensversicherungs-Gesellschaft; Post Italiane; GSTP Global Straight Through Processing AP; Ustra Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe AG and Aeropuertos Esapnoles y Navegacion Aerea.
Poste Italiane, the former public post services company in Italy, purchased PeopleSoft CRM in order to upgrade its current Contact Center solution. "With an average of one million four hundred thousand contacts a day, Poste Italiane has one of the biggest contact centers in Italy. Our mission is to provide real-time assistance to our customers along their whole life-cycle and identify new business opportunities by providing a Contact Center service to companies outside of Poste Italiane," said Giuseppe Pavone, manager of Call Center Service and Customer Solutions at Poste Italiane. During the third quarter numerous European organizations also selected PeopleSoft's Human Capital Management, Financial Management and Supply Chain Management enterprise applications. New customers include: EMAP plc; Safeway plc; Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA; Ministere de la Culture et de la Communication; Nato 3C Agency; IFAD; VPV Services GmbH and Marks & Spencer plc.
