We have had our java developer (guru) programming a web service for the last month and a half. We are simply trying to get and update addresses in a database as a test of web services. I, in a hour and a half, programmed the same web service, generated the WSDL and published it to the UDDI. My Java friend is still working on generating his WSDL. The biggest problem he seemed to face is formatting a date the way we want. In this time of reduced budget and resources I will choose .Net for it's RAD development. Our expectations are increasing and we need something to meet this demand with only one to two programmers per project.

FYI ... I do some java programming as well but projects are just quicker to develop in .Net. Also with the new platform architecture of XP I will not see the "Dr. Watson"'s either. Dr. Watson is a protection for the platform not the development language. The new platform architecture separates program references from the core of the Platform. (Much like Unix would) This makes the OS more stable unlike the old 98 structure of allowing core OS changes by installed software.
