Re Microsoft plans to offer a preview Tuesday of the next version of its Office software suite, which is expected to help the company more than double sales of the personal computer software package by 2010. They'd better hope that Office, one of its only two significantly profitable products, increases sales by more than 2x in the next eight years. That's only a 9% annual increase. A company with a 31 P/E like MSFT's should hope that it grows by more than 9% per year, especially when confronted with rapidly improving competition that sells for ZERO dollars.
