"Placer mining is a type of surface mining." You also wrote, "placer gold refers to alluvial deposits of gold in sand to gravel." Unless you are saying that placer gold simply cannot exist underground, then what sense does it make to say that it cannot be mined underground by block-caving? Do you know anything about the material in question? Have you seen it? Have you studied it? Have you tested it?
