These guys on SI are just the parallel universe version of the 1999-crowd... I have to admit "rooting for the short side" kindof goes against my grain and I don't like reading people who call everybody who isn't on their side morons, idiots etc. Thats all you get on those threads. But who cares about them, they are just some guy on SI.

The real problem are the talking heads on cnbc and fox. Cavuto has become my favorite, very balanced through the bear. But Cramer for example a few weeks ago said "in the 70's ALCOA was a growth stock!"- implying that tech isn't growth anymore and these tech stocks are going to be flat dividend payers going forward. Get real. (although there are certainly SOME like that, sure.) Also theres a constant drumbeat of secular bear, as if its a given.

Another thing (specifically about the bear threads on SI)- this PE ratio issue. This question has been answered over and over in thestreet.com and WSJ and everywhere. But the bear threads choose to ignore 1)any potential for earnings recovery and 2)interest rates. Even Barrons which is hardly a permabull (remember when we called it BEARons) says stocks are undervalued. I don't bother discussing these issues, its a black hole.

I'm doing well these days with my investments for the first time in a long time and like the action I see in the mkt.
