So we apparently have the sniper standing at a phone booth near a gas station in Richmond playing a tape recorded message. Sounds like the sniper was using one of those handheld portable dictation devices with tinny speakers. Add to it his desire to get funds wired electronically somewhere and he doesn't sound like your average blue-collar outdoor laborer as we first surmised when told of the white van with ladder rack sightings.

I disagree. He sounds like a whackjob who watches too many movies. He really think electronic transfers can't be traced? They're gonna issue him a nice Visa card so he can get money whenever he wants it? He only thinks he knows what he's talking about.

Which brings me to another point. CNN had a few new "experts" today. One idiot, a psychologist, solemnly intoned that the shooter was an "evil genius", highly intelligent?

Huh? He's good at what he does, which is killing people. He's bright enough not to attract attention before he shoots, and to plan his getaway in advance. A tiger on the hunt does the same thing. It doesn't require "genius", merely talent. I'm sure it's the kind of talent many perfectly ordinary hunters possess. Some military training would probably help as well.

These idiots are giving the guy just what he wants: recognition. No wonder he feels like "God".

On CNN now: "possible sniper link being investigated in Tacoma, Washington". Huh? They're digging up the lawn.
