Scott,

Just looked at the fan-voted Top 10 baseball moments. In 10 years, Ripken's accomplishment wouldn't make the Top 5, let alone number one. Not to diminsh the significance of that feat, but I don't see it in the same terms as the Shot Heard 'Round the World. (And I'm not biased. <G>) Ripken was definitely a class act and one of the few athletes that seems to take his station as a role model seriously.

I'd have voted for Robinson breaking the color barrier because its importance transcended sports.
