I've seen some of that too. Not just the stock market though. You just can't get much interest on you're money these days.
Then again a lot of people are just plain cashing in tax free and getting out of dodge.

As far as the slowing of the high end, this appears to be happening. However, most are holding their price hoping for "season" in FL to bring a buyer.

I remember when all there was in Bonita was a gas station on 41.
