If my "Israeli hitwomen" theory is correct, a prolonged slack would simply mean that Ashcroft and the CIA successfully struck a deal with the Mossad. But it can also mean that the actual "mad sniper" is still on the loose --taking a break while the cops keep shaking down the wrong guys.... Gus
