The Financial Times quotes Louis Sola, considered to be the worlds foremost authority on investing in Cuba
A Note From The Author:

Cuban Capitalism is the compilation of over 5 years of detailed professional and academic research on Cuba’s slow transition into a modern economy. Since the downfall of the Soviet Block, Cuba has had to embrace many semi-capitalistic principals to survive. Cuba has suffered many years of a U.S. imposed political and economical embargo, yet the island has proved to be an attractive market that has survived the U.S. pressure while continuing to encourage international investors to come to the island.
Most important, Cuba has succeeding in keeping its major trading and investment partners despite the embargo. More and more nations, companies and individuals are investing in Cuba and many of them are making fortunes. However, for every success story, there are numerous stories of ill-prepared companies that have had less than pleasing experiences. Cuban Capitalism takes an in depth view of the legal, trade, and investment that have been transpiring since the adoption of the foreign investments incentives. It is geared to prepare the uninitiated to invest in Cuba and come out a winner.
Information previously unavailable: Details on how to:
. Identify opportunities for trade and investment,
Establish contacts,
Find independent legal and consulting advice,
Find and establish proper banking facilities,
Ensure proper credit guarantees,
Provide proper insurance coverage's,
In-depth research on infrastructure and industry sectors,
Give a who’s who of companies and experiences,

.
During the last 5 years, I have had the luxury of observing these issues from a number of truly unique standpoints. My experiences include: The modest honor of being awarded a humanitarian medal for actions during the Cuban Refugee Crisis. Providing all the legal and financial obligations to the first 100% foreign investment on the Island. Overseeing trade and insurance's for major trading partners wanting to do business inside Cuba. Acting as a consultant to firms wanting to do business in Cuba. Shipping heavy construction vehicles & equipment to other points of the Latin American Caribbean Basin. Acting as financial consultant to Panama's largest firms and construction companies. I also teach Financing at Florida State University at their branch in Panama. I am married to a Panamanian and the father of two children.

When it involves investing in Cuba, it should be said that I learned as much if not more from the failures and obstacles I have encountered, and through trial and error, than from the accolades and what I learned in college. It's a whole new ball game, and it's an exciting one where large fortunes can and will be made by
those with the right knowledge about the shape and condition of the playing field.

My offices are in Panama City in the Republic of Panama. Although American by birth (and education,) in addition to English I also speak fluent Spanish and German. Conditions for living and investing in Cuba are improving rapidly. There is very little information available on changing conditions in Cuba, especially in the investment sector. It is clear that much of the 'misinformation' is the result of polarized political positions. No matter the side of the embargo / political debate on which one stands, the unilateral suppression of information by every side acts to cloud the real truths and to encourage misinformation. I see it as an opportunity and a privilege to report the facts as they are without any bias to any side.

Sincerely,
Louis Sola
