The bomb in Bali was directed at the foreigners, primarily Australians, who stuck their nose into Middle Eastern politics.

I'm not saying that being uninvolved with the Middle East will make us immune to violence from that region, just that it will reduce it. The truth is that the US has had politically motivated bombings for 100 years, there is no policy that would eliminate them entirely.
