| lol. I'd rather paint-ball than do that wierd (to me) cyber dominating thing in games. It's just good old-fashioned fun. I grew up playing shoot-em-up. It was benign and not-violent but we were taught you never said you'd kill someone. That freaks me out with a niece of mine. She says it and I go off. Not funny to me. We knew it was play time. I might say, or they did, "you're dead", but you never said as a joke that you'd kill someone. Nah, with the right attitude, paint-balling is great. I find computer games scary sometimes. It's all how you see it, and the attitude. I'm 44, probably older than you as well as way older than the young Kid Rock, but mostly it's that my mom talked to me. Talk to him. At 13 he knows the difference. What's fun, and what's not cool. Killing is not cool unless you're saving a life, and even then it's not cool. You pay for it. He'll understand. And let him have fun. Have fun with him. I'd love to go paint-balling I just don't have a kid to do it with. And... I saw too many dead bodies, so I freak. But he doesn't have to do that. My thing now is archery. Clean and simple. But.. just talk to him. You're smart, and aware. I bet he is too. Y'all could play together and he'll whoop your ass at it. :) |
