RX-III,

I read a Paine Weber report and according to them it is the Alpha chip
that is in trouble. If you look from a pure economics point of view,
Intel has the economies of scale in their favor. For example, DEC has
currently shipped 180,000 alpha chips. They need to ship 800,000 just
to break even. It does not take an economist to figure out that DEC
can not keep pumping money into a business that they are losing money
in. Therefore, Intel with Microsoft will have a very good chance of
winning this battle. In fact according to Paine Weber, it is just a
matter of time.
