Good Morning Brian,

I think you guys are onto it.

Intel has stated 225 % more chips on 300 mm.I'm assuming that they refer to .13 linewidths -which I think all the 300 mm wafer fabs start out at.

To further confuse things they are now transitioning to th 90 nanometer so noone will ever know.

Then you must discuss yield which is perhaps the bigger question.

None of it really matters unless end user demand drives prices higher.

Speaking of that, does anyone notice the uniform Q4 projections of a slow down.Perhaps it marks the return of sanity, where the basic concept of production equaling supply - which results in proper pricing.Proper meaning a margin that allows for a margin of profit.

It seems to me that the 97 - 98 asian contagion was finally cured when chip makers realized that racing for market share by selling chips below cost was not good business.Upon this enlightenment profits soon returned and a renaissance of profitability soon followed.

I'm getting lightheaded thinking that these BASIC THOUGHT PROCESSES may well be FINALLY REDISCOVERED.

Oh well time will tell.

Bob
