Terrorism is not going to go away, period. Neither will the hatred. The hatred is less about us than the culture that foments it.

I think Bush's advisors understand the "big picture" with perfect clarity. I think they grasp the risks. I think they realize that unintended consequences naturally fall in the wake of any course of action...including appeasement, disengagement, buy-offs, and signed treaties.
