The U.S. elections will be affected by the shocking death of Democratic Senator Paul Wellstone this morning in a plane crash near Eveleth in northern Minnesota. This may increase the odds of a Republican takeover of the Senate. What a shock it must be for the people of that state. OT - My first trip thru Eveleth was in June 1967, on the way to a 2-week canoe trip. While we were out of contact in the wilderness, the 6-day war was fought in the Mideast. A great old song about the Eveleth area... bobdylan.com
