The roll of the federal gov't is pretty explicitly spelled out in the US Constitution. I don't recall seeing one reference to the support of the arts. If are gov't is going to do that, they should pass an amendment to make it official.

But frankly, I see gov't funding of art as a way that boring white people can have access to the stuff that they like to listen to and see. You don't see too much gov't funding of rap artists, do you?
