Media giant AOL Time Warner is scouting China for a site for a large-scale outdoor filming base.

The company has just completed a tour to Lin'an, in east China' s Zhejiang Province. The company's Asia-Pacific executives made a trip to Qingshanhu Development Zone and met with Lin'an Mayor Wang Jian.

AOL Time Warner intends to invest four billion yuan (481.9 million US dollars) in building a 330-hectare filming base, which is also expected to become a tourist attraction.

Sources said the US company would also tour other areas in east China before deciding on a location for its first massive studio in China. A decision may be worked out by the end of the year.
