Those numbers are about as accurate as they can be. Highly accurate in other words. Unknowns are under "unknowns". You better believe it, complete honesty is the only way to solve NI problem. The killings on both sides were as bad, and both were truly awful.

You also have to remember how this started in the first place. Catholics were treated like blacks were in South Africa in NI pre 1969. They were often tortured and killed for some weekend sport after a beer or two...this tradition continued up till 1994

When the British "divided" Ireland they split it right though a county too. The reason was to maximize the area in square miles, but still keep a protestant majority. (Catholic minority) That's not democracy, it's called stupidity. Active support of a bigoted state was the cruncher in stupidity. After 50 yrs or so war broke out. Big surprise. 50 yrs later Southern Ireland wins, Britain loses and gets NI tax bill for the mess over there. STOOPID, even if you have to realize in hindsight.
