When we get our first "big estate" at Tahoe, I'll definitely host the next Porch party. We're not quite there yet, but as you often preach, goals are a good thing. -g-
I've definitely been one of the head scratchers about the direction of the market lately. Like you said, had I been long when I was looking down the past couple of weeks, I'd have cleaned up. Chalk up another learning experience.
I'll never underestimate the resilience of capitalism, having benefited greatly from its practice, and the world isn't coming to an end by any means. I don't necessarily equate those concepts with the resilience of the market though. Having said that, bear market rallies (like the current one) sure can be breathtaking. I wish I'd been better positioned for this one.
We head back to Lake Tahoe next weekend. This weekend is for (hopefully) watching my Giants win their first World Series since 1954. My parents, siblings, nephews and nieces, and my immediate family will crowd into our living room Saturday night to scream our fool heads off hoping they close out the Angels. Thankfully, losing my voice won't stop my typing fingers!
