Max, nobody defends that incident ..... anyone who truly understands or has a passion for athletics would never cheer any injury to an athlete.

Of course, anyone who enjoys and understands athletics wouldn't use an Iggles game as a simple excuse to get smashed which most of them do or act subhuman which many of them do.

Heck, I was embarrassed last week when they booed the offense after all of 8 minutes ....

I'll skip my opinion of M. Irvin other than to say that God truly does work in mysterious ways sometimes. M. Irvin in my opinion is and was scum as a human being, a man and a father. Ooops ... guess I didn't skip my opinion ... lol

Would I have ever cheered his injury, no.

Was I even pleased he was injured, no.

All that said, I'm not sure people outside this city can understand the passion of the Philly sports fan. They also know their sports much better on the whole than most fans. Players recognize it; some appreciate it, some don't.

I would think any athlete worth their salt would rather perform where people really care rather than where it is merely something to do for 2 or 3 hours.

Problem today is professional sports is filled with many not worth their salt. It's mostly, "hey man, lemme show up, play and gimme that big ass check every two weeks" ...

Athletes like that never seem to stick in Philly too long ... for obvious reasons.
