You are not Terry (twilko), are you? Were you in the Marines, too? A Canadian friend of mine enlisted in the US to fight in 'Nam. But he came home after undergoing some training. He said he didn't like the indoctrination to kill. He hated it when he and his buddies were commanded to charge and ram their bayonets into dummies and yell out loudly as they did so, "KILL! KILL! KILL!!!!" The black sarge in charge, apparently seeing he was a soft touch, told him to go home "quietly" (go home for a 2-week break and don't bother to report back.) That was exactly what he did. Today my friend is an ardent pacifist. You are right: the article has nothing ro do with gold. At least not directly. But one thing is certain. Anyone falling in battle is likely to get his gold extracted from him --- I mean his gold teeth and any gold that may be hidden in his ass a la Papillon. <GGG> Remember: the Nazis reportedly extracted all the gold they could get from their victims before committing them to the gas chambers.
