Raging Bull letting people go
By: ragingAaron $$$$$ 25 Oct 2002, 03:19 PM EDT Msg. 17265 of 17287 Hello All:
I must first apologize for our lack of presence on the boards the past couple days. As I am sure you are aware, on Wednesday we were forced to say goodbye to some friends and co-workers. This is never easy. While Raging Bull is a business, that business is made up of real people. People with families, and bills, and Sunday games of touch-football.
The two questions that everyone must have are 1.) Was anyone affected at Raging Bull? And 2.) What does this all mean for the future of Raging Bull?
The short answer to the first question is, yes. I regret to inform the community that ragingKaren is no longer with us. This is a heavy blow to the RB family. While she may not have been that visible to the community, the passion and drive that she had for Raging Bull was an inspiration to all who worked with her. Her knowledge and wry sense of humor (not to mention that thick, THICK, Boston accent) is simply irreplaceable. I had the honor and privilege to work with her from our small days back in Andover and she will be terribly missed.
However, business continues. This week has added a little confusion in to the mix, but we are still on target for upcoming projects. The two things that you will see first are the retirement of the MPR system and a crackdown on TOS violations. We have had a lot of discussion lately on the problems of consistency. We are working on ways to improve this. These two items are priority one for us.
In the future, you will see a new video player being launched on the site that will provide you with company and industry news. You will see a new search tool. You will see advanced ignore feature. You will see threading finally being introduced into the site. We are also working on chat features as well as streaming portfolios and real time quotes.
Sometimes the road is bumpy- however, we have a strong and impassioned team. Rest assured, we are still here – and working as diligently as ever to make Raging Bull the greatest financial community on the Internet.
Best, Aaron ragingbull.lycos.com |
