Well, if we wait long enough its a certainty that Saddam will develop nukes. When he does its also a certainty he'll move to take over the Persian Gulf's oil reserves - a goal he's pursued for 20+ years. In the confrontation over that, its likely he'll use his nukes - only one of which is sufficient to permanently eliminate Saudi Arabia's oil reserves. Don't think he would - what did he do as his troops were pulling out of Kuwait?

suppressing Congressional investigation into why it happened, and who in the administration and government were responsible for allowing US citizens to be killed by the thousands.

Think of the blame game we can have after the Persian Gulf is a smoking radioactive ruin and oil goes for $200+ a barrel.

The War on Terrorism is certainly a very high priority but we don't need to neglect other developing dangers.
