"Today we are not fighting states that want to carve out lebenstrom(living space)."

I think the comparison to WWII is in the fanaticism of the combatants. Like WWII the only way to end it, is to conclusively defeat the enemy.

"Again resolute action in palastine by america is the fist step necessary in any just resolution to mid east problems.Let us impose peace there first,a peace based on justice.Or have we not the stomach for it."

I don't think it is a question of having the stomach. I think it is a realization that for all of the well meaning efforts of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, they could not make a peace. I might add a solution which would have been accepted by any reasonable person. Yet Arafat could not bring the peace, because he either does not want peace,or he cannot lead the fanatics to accept peace. The bottom line is there is a fanatical streak that runs through the middle east, which will not go away if play nice. I truly beleive we will have to achieve absolute and conclusive victory or the turmoil and terrorism will continue forever.
